Reid Gower has a passion in promoting scientific literacy in the general population leading him to develop his video series. His media creation, called The Sagan Series, borrows the words of the late astrophysicist Carl Sagan and has gone on to inspire millions across the world. Reid is Canadian and lives on Vancouver Island. He is a graduate of the University of Victoria. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. I love TED too, but Neil is working on something with far more impact than a Ted Talk: a new? version of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, to be aired in 2014.
Cosmos is on? DVD! And although it’s “dated”, it’s still wonderful.

I couldn’t believe it when the Prometheus? video came out! My? talk is from November 12, 2011 and the Prometheus clip actually came out 4 months later.
If anyone saw the Peter Weyland TED clip from Prometheus…hes pretty much taking alot of cues from there?
