You don’t have to try to keep a consistent train of thought, and I’m not extremely intelligent and could careless if I appear that way. Not everyone does? things to appear a certain way, dude.
Anyone? who is TRYING to keep a consistent train of thought is doing it simply not to contradict themselves. You’re comment makes you appear to be obsessed by appearing intelligent
I’m sure most people who don’t contradict themselves do it because they want to keep a logically consistent train of thought, not because they are obsessed with? how they appear to others. You comments make you seem pretty unintelligent.
I completely agree. Lydon is a walking contradiction, but that’s a trait I? admire in people. He’s not so vain he has to make sure he doesn’t contradict himself. If it happens…it happens.
John Lydon advocates one thing and does another. Yes because he’s doing what he wants, and what he wants is to be a hypocrite.
And might I remind everyone that punk is just a word, and like all words (and all things really) has no intrinsic meaning. Any word only means what people agree for it to mean. And since almost no one agrees on what the word “punk” means, (other than the genre of music? called punk rock) using it to describer an ideology renders it meaningless.
Technically, every action anyone has ever? performed was “doing what they want”. As opposed to something happening to them. Even if someone tries to fit in to society, he only does so because he wants to. Following your definition of “punk”, every action ever performed was punk. I think people should be less concerned with defining and appeasing the new god called “Punk”, and more concerned with living honestly and with integrity.
Just really the Ramones. I quite like other bands like the dolls, and richard hell and the voidoids. They were singing about problems they had, and what they felt. The Ramones sung about the exact same things the beatles did. It’s not a contradiction, just? clearly defined terms
Nah totally disagree. Of the three bands you mentioned the only one that? consistently stayed punk (largely because of their short time together) is the Sex Pistols. The Clash branched off into countless amounts of genres and The Damned became gothic. I like The Adverts too but even their second album was a bit more mainstream than their first. I’m not a yankee by the way, I’m from the Highlands haha.
Dead Kennedy’s is more second wave punk. Subject matter is important in bands like the pistols, the? damned, The clash. Or at least it is here in England, because it’s accessible. Otherwise being angry and writing music thats loud is just a homo-erotic way of relieving stress.
I’m done fighting with you, should have never started? in the first place. I’m here for the video not some petty argument. Have a good day.
the phrase is “I couldn’t care less”. If you? could care less, then that implies you care somewhat, so you do care if you appear that way.

When he says Subhumans? is he refering to the Brits or the Canadians
Because it makes you too obsessed with how you appear? to others.
I’m sorry, but I don’t see how trying to not contradict yourself makes you vain. ?

I was being facetious. I? do get to ‘duh’ you. Forgive me for my typo.
Duh? Mate you spelt? quite – quiet. You don’t get to ‘duh’ me…
Well? duh.

That’s a pretty fair comparison really but at the same time The Beatles are often said to be the best? band ever.
Do you think he’s projecting when he’s talking about Biafra??

That would contradict what you said earlier calling New York bands fake? though…
punk is doing what you want. It’s not about looking a certain way, or behaving a certain way.? It’s just doing what you want.
