Michael Chuck and the Inukshuk, on the beach at English Bay in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

From Wikipedia:

An inuksuk (inukshuk in English, plural inuksuit) is a stone landmark used as a milestone or directional marker by the Inuit of the Canadian Arctic…Inuksuit vary in shape and size, and perform a diverse array of tasks. It is a symbol with deep roots in the Inuit culture, a directional marker that signifies safety, hope and friendship…The word inuksuk means "something which acts for or performs the function of a person." The word comes from the morphemes inuk ("person") and -suk ("ersatz or substitute").

Thanks! I’ve always wanted to go in here with a camera and a wide angle lens. Walking around Gastown is a lot of fun for a photographer. You should also try the restaurants!

Oh Wow!! What alot of books – brilliant capture – looks like a fire hazard though, they would have closed this down in boring old England!

Stephie I not know how they get away with it either. I also don’t wanna be here during an earthquake. The place is really interesting tho. Aside for the old books, there are old signs, posters, brick walls and arches and a vault (it probably used to be a bank). And then there’s the basement…… (!)
