Great older players will usually play here for the lifestyle and not the money. Alessandro Nesta was offered millions in Asia and is playing in Montreal for about 300,000? US$. Young-Pyo Lee was offered 2 million to stay with Al-Hilal, chose to play in Vancouver for 200,000 US$. The MLS does not pay millions for older players looking for a retirement home. That’s what Asia is for.
Its because the US has money, and is much easier for older players that arent good enough to play in europe. Still those are nobodies unless they complete a move and actually do good. Remember Kaka? star in Milan, now 2 seasons in Madrid, played 65 games from 2 seasons. Now Mourinho has told him to leave cause? he is gonna be a reserve, so you never know if those players will even be good in the big teams.
Alvaro Fernandez, Jerry Bengtson, Roger Espinoza, Fredy Montero, Marco Pappa, Osvaldo Alonso, Brek Shea, Benny Feilhaber. All of these players have had numerous offers for them from clubs in the big 4 leagues or clubs in like Holland, Portugal, or Russia that are always in the champions league.
