Some cool Vancouver British Columbia images:

Marine Drive, Fisherman’s Cove, Howe Sound in the West Vancouver area? (British Columbia), May 20th 1945

It is virtually impossible to identify the car, but clearly a car that dates back to the 1920’s and/or early 1930’s

Wow, a composition that gives vertigo…

Seen on your photo stream. (?)

  2. Sherlock77 (James) says:

Yeah, about that vertigo… I did do some additional cropping on this photo to hopefully make the car a little more noticeable (as it’s such a tiny element here in the first place) which made the photo a little "narrow"

  3. Emilia Tjernström [Arriving at the horizon] says:

I don’t mind the narrow at all — one of my flickr friends has a little personal revolution against the nomarlization of the standard rectangular photographic format…

  4. Sherlock77 (James) says:

Funny… Because I generally try to conform to standard rules of thumb with aspect ratios with my personal photography, kind of like a stick in the mud… 🙂 I even try to crop my P&S digital photos (3/4 ratio) down to a 4×6 ratio (2/3 ratio) where possible

However when it comes to these old photos I have to learn how to live with them the way they are… In this case there was more room on the right side that I cropped out (useless space), but then I didn’t want to lose the top edge of that cliff either, so cropped the way I did here…

    Really good shaky capture.

Great shot, it is all bright and happy. Way more fun than a straight shot.
