www.facebook.com @novustv – twitter.com Carnaval del Sol 2012: An explosion of Latin flavors takes over Vancouver “Carnaval del Sol is now one of Vancouver’s largest and most exciting summer events, bringing a dynamic celebration of Latin culture in Canada to the heart of our downtown.” Mayor Gregor Robertson LatinCouver has recreated a Latin American “fiesta” experience in downtown Vancouver: Carnaval Del Sol. The 4th Annual Carnaval del Sol, is a Vancouver’s Latin American Celebration of Art and Culture. A two-day event that for the first time is hosting a regional award to recognize the contributions of distinguished members in the Latin American community. LatinCouver has worked closely with City of Vancouver and HispanicBusiness.ca from Toronto to organize and celebrate the achievements made in the business, cultural and environmental sectors. Many of the attendees are consulates, government representatives, non-profit organizations and other members in the business community. Carnaval del Sol recreates on the most traditional experiences in Latin America: people enjoy gathering in the local “plaza” to soak up the daily happenings. Some of the scheduled events include locally and nationally renowned Latin musical artists, folk dance troupes, a marketplace that displays the work of Latin American artisans and childrens’ games.
